November of 2019, I was a seven-month pregnant mom running a business and preparing for birth.
Me and my husband were thinking of what to name our soon-to-be-born daughter.
We would like to keep the letter “C” as an initial to be patterned with our firstborn.
There were several contenders – but only two stood out.
Ceana and Carilee.
We Googled the word “Ceana” and liked the meaning “God is gracious”.
We also liked the fact that it’s a contraction of “Oceana”, as I love the oceans and beaches.
However, my mom suggested a different name.
“Carilee Amity” was what she suggested. She said that it was a combination of me and my husband’s name.
We liked the sound of it, that we changed it the last minute.
A year later, I was in the similar place. I was looking for another name.
This time, it was a name for the rebranding of my NetSuite Consulting firm.
I spent weeks, months to find that one name.
Google, Godaddy and NameCheap became my best friends for two months.
I didn’t know that it was that hard!
All along, I was clueless it was right there in front of me.
“Ceana Technology”, I thought.
I kept repeating and it resonated well with me.
Ceana – which was the supposed name for our daughter.
Little did we know that it was meant to be a name of our other child, our company.
If you’re in a similar situation right now where you’re looking for a name – be it for your child or your company, feel free to message me. I will share some tips with you.
